Valsts prezidents ar Facebook, Google un Microsoft pārstāvjiem pārrunā digitālo tehnoloģiju ietekmi un starptautisku regulējumu nepieciešamību
On 15 February, during the Munich Security Conference, President of Latvia Egils Levits met with Facebook Vice-president for Global Affairs and Communications Nick Clegg, Google Head of Europe for Government Affairs and Public Policy Annette Kroeber-Riel and Microsoft President and Chief Legal Officer Brad Smith.

President Levits and management representatives of Facebook, Google and Microsoft discussed the societal impact of digital technologies and stressed the need to launch a debate on regulatory framework required to ensure that technologies have positive effect and at the same time eliminate the negative effects technologies have on democracy and human freedoms.

President Levits underlined that Latvia has substantial experience and is ready to engage in such debate. He also praised global online giants for recognising the need for regulatory framework.
