On 21 April, President of Latvia Egils Levits congratulated philosopher, professor, Director of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the University of Latvia, Dr. habil. phil. Maija Kūle, on her 70th birthday and awarded her the Certificate of Merit in recognition of her significant input in development of science and research.
Certificate of Merit presented by President Levits to Mrs Kūle reads: ‘I truly admire your professional skills and academic accomplishments in making philosophy and human sciences more visible alongside the science, technology, engineering and mathematics, while also exploring the European culture, values and identity. Your true and relentless interest in science and research has motivated you to devote your life to it, making you an inspiration to the young generation. Congratulations on your 70th birthday!’
