Marking the 100 years of sovereignty of Latvia and Poland, President of Latvia Egils Levits and President of Poland Andrzej Duda have become patrons of ‘There has always been a perfect understanding between Warsaw and Riga…’, an open-air photo exhibition opened on 29 November 2019, and international academic conference ‘Poland-Latvia: 100 years of diplomatic and military relations’, held on 17 January 2020 in Warsaw (Poland). Presidents of both countries sent letters of congratulations to participants and visitors of both events. Exhibition and conference were a part of the public diplomacy programme of Latvia’s centennial celebrations.
